FAQsFrequently Asked Questions
Here are some common questions about Kip McGrath
How long will my child need tutoring?
An achievable goal and approximate timescale will be agreed after your child’s initial assessment. However, as all children progress at different rates this will initially be just a good estimate.
Your child’s tutor will keep you fully informed on your child’s progress throughout their time in tuition so you will know if they are progressing at a quicker or slower pace than estimated.
Can my child receive tuition at home?
Yes, provided your child has access to a laptop or PC at home, we can provide face to face tuition remotely.
Please contact the Peterborough North Centre for further details.
Why tutor in a small group?
Kip McGrath was built on one to one tuition in a small group environment and have been successfully applying this method for 40 years.
At Kip McGrath Peterborough North we believe this method will provide your child with the best of two worlds: quality 1:1 tuition from an experienced teacher and supported periods of independent learning.
What happens if my child is ill or misses a lesson?
Please let us know as soon as possible if your child is unable to make a lesson. We will then endeavour to provide your child with an extra ‘catch-up lesson’ at a time to suit you. This could be in the form of an online lesson or in centre lesson on an alternative time/day.
Why will my child receive homework tasks?
Homework is an important part of the programme. It gives your child the opportunity to consolidate and practise skills taught during their lesson.
Your child will only receive homework on topics they have covered with their tutor and should not be too easy or too difficult.
Please speak with your child’s tutor if you have any concerns.
